People WatchingThe definition of Anthropology is: The study of human beings's similarity to and divergence from other animals. Basically, the study of people. What better way to study people than to just watch them? So, when you are at the mall noticing how amazing God's creations are, you are participating in science. Obviously, there is a lot more to the Science of Anthropology, like, actually interacting with the group you are observing, but for this introductory class Professor Dykman only required us to observe people.

Class overview and signature assignment
Overall, the class was very informative and interesting. Professor Dykman does a good job at keeping the class focused, mainly because if you don't he'll ask you a question right at that moment. There were not very many assignments but the ones that were assigned made you dig deep into the science of Anthropology. The most hands-on assignment was our Final Paper. We each had to choose a tribe from the SLCC online library and write about them.
The Pashtun Tribe
The Pashtun Tribe is a tribe located in Afghanistan. This paper describes how they interact with each other (in marriage) and other tribes (in conflict) in the area.
